Research Interests
Szandra Kramarics (postdoctoral researcher) is a project researcher in the Welfare Experiences research program. Her research interests include family policy and the marketization of social policy. She wrote her doctoral thesis on the Hungarian family benefit system after 2010, highlighting baby-expecting loan (babaváró hitel) as a new tool of marketization. During her dissertation, she gained experience in the application of qualitative methods, particularly in conducting interviews. She is able to put this experience to good use in the Welfare Experiences project. In 2024, she was awarded an EKÖP (University Excellence Scholarship Program) grant to study the role of banks and the process of marketization in the Hungarian family benefit system. She presented her findings at the 5th ISA Forum (International Sociological Association) in Rabat, Morocco, in 2025.
